Welcome to the Hôtel & Restaurant des Basses Pyrénées

Hôtel des Basses Pyrénées is a charming 27-room property located on the Vauban ramparts in the heart of the city’s historic center.

As the oldest hotel in Bayonne, fully renovated in July 2015, it combines tranquility, comfort, and modern amenities. Its stone tower, characteristic of the Gallo-Roman era and home to the Suites, gives the hotel both character and elegance.

A Hotel Full of History

Step through the Executioner’s Tower, part of the southern ramparts, and immerse yourself in centuries of history. Originally the residence of Bayonne’s executioner under the Ancien Régime, this medieval tower—built atop Roman foundations—offers a glimpse into the city’s past.

Today, three luxurious Suites occupy this historic space, combining the charm of old-world architecture with modern comfort for an unforgettable stay.

Modern Comfort of a 4-Star Hotel

The team welcomes you in a contemporary setting with high-end services. Choose from different room categories to suit your needs: a double room with a king-size bed, a twin room, a family room accommodating up to four guests, or luxurious Suites with stone walls for a unique and charming stay.
